Like how it is in a movie scene, I see every part of you right before me—in slow motion.
Your eyes smiling, you laugh heartily, your hands on your left chest—feeling your own heartbeat, almost with abandon—all because you couldn’t contain your happiness.
You are a joy to watch.
You are a reflection of everything in life—grateful and content.
You make me fall so hard every time you do all those things.
YOU ARE MINE.
But one reality starts setting in—those smiles, those laughs, those lingering looks—everything that you are will always be for someone else.
Someone that has been your constant and your light—and while I tried my best, people who see you together will always think—I am but a shadow.
A shadow of your past.
A shadow of the person you once and still loved.
A shadow of your greatest love.
And like any shadow, it is about time for me to leave—because you’ve found your light…
Or maybe it has always been there—dimmed but enough to illuminate…
…AGAIN.
